LG trail offers the opportunity to discover amazing Swiss landscapes. A route exploring several territories abounding with unique and breathtaking sites:

LAUSANNE AND THE VAUD CANTON REGION

Lausanne is the seat of the International Olympic Committee. Located between the lake and the mountains on the northern shores of Lake Geneva, Lausanne is the fourth largest city in Switzerland and the capital of the Vaud canton. Modern and multi-faceted city, its landscapes, history, parks and gardens give it a special charm. An atmosphere and a unique ambience await the runners of LG Trail. They will set off in the canton of Vaud, a region offering an impressive diversity of landscapes : from the peaks of the Alps, to the villages on the shores of Lake Leman and the Jura mountain …

PARC PRÉ VERT – SIGNAL DE BOUGY

Located between Lausanne and Geneva, at an altitude of 707 meters in a green setting of 110 hectares, the Park Pré Vert Signal de Bougy is a public park accessible to all. This place of leisure, which dominates the Lake Geneva, the vineyards of the Coast, offers one of the best views on the lake and the Mont Blanc. Parc Pré Vert will host the LG Kids.

SAINT-CERGUE

The village of Saint-Cergue (1047m) is a real gateway to the regional park Jura Vaudois, a natural site that covers more than 530 km2. Dominated by la Dôle (1677 m), fir forests, valleys and clearings ; all reserve breathtaking views of Lake Leman, the Alps and the Jura. The start of LG Half will be given from Saint-Cergue.

PAYS DE GEX

At the gateway to Switzerland and in the heart of the Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park, the communes of Divonne-les-Bains, Vesancy and Grilly will see the participants of LG Trail pass on their tracks. Divonne-les-Bains, spa town, will not leave any respite to the riders who will discover the heights of the town as well as Mont Mussy. Trailers will then go through Vesancy. Perched on a hill and well-rounded with its old farms, this town is often mentioned in tourist guides as one of the most characteristic villages of the Pays de Gex. To reach the canton of Geneva, the participants will cross the bucolic Grilly bridge which crosses the Versoix.

CHAVANNES-DES-BOIS

The small village of Chavannes-des-Bois which is located in the countryside has kept all its charm, enjoying a magnificent view of the Alps on one side and the Jura on the other. In the middle of nature, surrounded by fields and forests, you can see, at nightfall, deer and wild boar coming out of the woods. If you are lucky enough, it is possible to see beavers along the Versoix.

GENEVA

Geneva is located between the peaks of the Alps and the peaks of the Jura, at the edge of the largest alpine lake in Europe : Lake Leman. In the harbor of the lake, a continuous show is proposed with the inevitable water jet reaching 140 meters in height. Symbol of the city that all passers-by admire, it is indeed impressive with its 500 liters of water projected in the air every second to almost 200 km/h. Geneva is also known as the European headquarters of the United Nations and the headquarters of the Red Cross, which has made Geneva the Switzerland’s most international city. Trailers will have the chance to finish in apotheosis facing the lake, in this cosmopolitan city, athletic and rich in history.
